Well! I carved for a couple of hours yesterday and managed to accomplish much more than I did on my last carving day, I must be getting better at it.
It's getting to the point where areas of it are fragile, I broke 2 such fine areas yesterday but I managed to incorporate them into the design.
So now that the top half of the egg is carved I am viewing the bottom half with trepidation, how and where do I hold it inorder to avoid breaking it, answers on a postcard please!

Wow! What an artform! I can't imagine having this skill. They are beautiful and from a technical aspect, crazy!

Beautiful! I wouldn't be able to do this, I'm not that steady handed... and I'm clumsy lol! This is amazing work :)
ReplyDeleteThanks to all of you.
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy, wrists and elbows suffer and I end up covered in a white dust as fine as flour, literally everywhere. This makes it an outside occupation, at the moment the temperature is in the 100's daily so it's on the back burner for now.
your work is really amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat is cool. I have no suggestions on where to hold it. I would crush it!
